95th Street (Valmont to Lookout Road) Reconstruction and Flood Safety Improvements – UNDERWAY – FULL ROADWAY CLOSURE (24/7) NOW IN PLACE THROUGH DECEMBER

95th Street between Valmont and Lookout roads will see significant construction activity starting in April 2024 and lasting into early 2025. The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase (NOW COMPLETE), was the reconstruction of the roadway (currently underway). The second phase (underway), which is the construction of a large new culvert system, requires a full roadway closure starting Monday, Aug. 26 through December. Specific information is available on the project webpage. In addition, a new traffic signal and intersection configuration will be created at Lookout Road and 95th Street. This project will be undertaken at the same time as phase one of the 95th Reconstruction Project. Expect daytime, weekday lane shifts with short travel delays at the intersection.

Jay Road (CO 119 to 63rd Street) and Area Roads Paving Project Starts in late September

Jay Road, and three additional roads in the area (see below), will be repaved and restriped between CO 119 and 63rd Street starting on September 20. Work will require daytime, weekday lane closures and traffic shifts, so expect delays. Flaggers will be used to safely move travelers around construction. More details will be provided before work commences. The project is anticipated to last into November, weather permitting. Other roads in the vicinity of Jay that will also be repaved during the same timeframe include:

  • 55th Street between Jay Road and CO 119
  • 57th Street between Jay and Independence roads
  • Independence Road between CO 119 and 57th Street

120th Street CLOSURE for Willoughby Corner Housing Project Starts Sept. 9

Crews working on the Willoughby Corner Housing Project for Boulder County Human Services will close 120th Street between CO 7 and Emma Street starting Monday, Sept. 9. The closure will be in place for approximately 10-weeks, weather permitting. Learn more about the project.

N. 47th Street CLOSED for 6-hours on Monday, Sept. 16

Road Maintenance will close N. 47th Street just north of Apple Way for six hours starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16. The closure is necessary so crews can replace a culvert. N. 47th Street will reopen by 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16. Crews will continue working in the location until Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19.

CO 119 Resurfacing – Nederland to CO 72/Coal Creek Canyon – Delays of up-to 10-minutes

Starting May 28, CDOT will begin a resurfacing project on CO 119 between the roundabout in Nederland and CO 72/Coal Creek Canyon. Work will start at the south end of the project and progress north. Travelers can expect single-lane closures and delays of up-to 10-minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is anticipated to last through September, weather permitting.

CO 119/Peak To Peak Highway from Downtown Nederland to CO 72/Coal Creek Canyon – Highway Resurfacing – Starts in April/May

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will resurface both lanes of CO 119 between the roundabout in Nederland to the intersection with CO 72/Coal Creek Canyon. Work is anticipated to start in April, weather permitting. The project is expected to take 3 months to complete. Expect single-lane closures with flaggers being used to direct traffic. Cyclists will be asked to merge with vehicles in the available lane through work zones. Advance tree removal/trimming work will take place in March. This work will also require lane closures. Zak Dirt is the contractor retained by CDOT to compete the project.
